materials developed at the elementary school level to help children
learn the MyPyramid graphic and the food guidance system.

tools provide teachers with graphics designed to hold the attention
of your students. Nutrition and physical activity messages
help children make lifestyle choices while learning to chart, color,
and practice matching skills. Grades 7 -12
Have
students enter their personal information and print out a personal
plan. Have the class take their meal plan one step further and
design a diet plan of their own based on the
MyPyramid.gov
recommendations. Compare different individual plans and discuss
how different plans can all be healthy. Grades 9 -12
Students will become familiar with
the latest dietary guidelines from the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, work in groups to find recipes that will help students
meet the dietary guidelines, and develop a class cookbook of
favorite recipes. California Project LEAN Grades 9 -12
