OBJECTIVES OF MODULE FIVE

  • Review recent information on the state of the nation’s current “Healthy School Environment”.
     

  • Identify opportunities to incorporate healthy behaviors into daily interactions with students.
     

  • Develop lesson plans and activities that will enable and encourage students to eat healthier.
     

  • Develop lesson plans and activities that will enable and encourage students to become more active.
     

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation of your school's health environment and ability to use food as a teaching tool.
     

  • Define the differences between physical activity and physical education.
     

  • Evaluate classroom activities to ensure that students are exposed to lifestyle physical activity and physical education.
     

  • Evaluate classroom activities to ensure that students are able to identify media impact on their choice of foods and snacks.
