NEVADA RESOURCES FOR THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY
The State of Nevada Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 9
During the 2007 Legislative Session, the
governing bodies of the State of Nevada called for public schools and school
districts to preserve and expand time allotted for physical education, physical
activity, and recess. This resolution also recognized the efforts of the Nevada
Board of Education in promoting healthy habits and the establishment of the
Statewide School Wellness Policy. This legislative body called upon the school
community to support the wellness policy in order to optimize student health and
performance. The policy was ranked 2nd in the nation by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI).
